Audio Compressor is a Chrome addon developed by vatara420 that aims to enhance the audio experience by compressing sound volumes to create a more balanced output. This tool utilizes dynamic range compression to ensure that the audio levels are consistent throughout.
With Audio Compressor, users have access to presets for different levels of compression. Additionally, customization options are available, allowing users to modify default settings or adjust settings on a per-site or per-page basis.
It is important to note that there are limitations to the functionality of Audio Compressor. Due to cross-origin browser security measures, the addon may not work with certain sites, as scripts are blocked from modifying audio or video from a different host. Unfortunately, there is currently no known workaround for this issue.
Audio Compressor leverages the Web Audio API to obtain the audio context for a page and inserts a DynamicsCompressorNode to achieve its compression functionality.
